Here's an early holiday gift for your family—a trip to somewhere in Scandinavia or Finland!
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is offering roundtrip tickets for kids under 12 years old with the purchase of one adult ticket in either SAS Plus, SAS Go, or SAS Go Light categories for only the price of the government taxes and carrier-imposed fees. Those flights are good from destinations such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, San Francisco and Washington DC to all SAS-destinations in Scandinavia and Finland.
We checked flights to Malmo from Los Angeles during the last week of March (stopping in Stockholm) and the tickets for five of us in SAS Plus, which serves a three-course meal and has wider seats, was $3,064.25. If we booked the starting class in SAS GO, it would be $2,204.25. But the kids tickets were only $83.58 a piece. The baby, who will be 23 months at this time, only costs $16.73! Awesome. (Interestingly, flying on those dates from Newark wasn't all that much cheaper.)
Of course, there are some catches. For starters, you have to book by December 10. Second, your flights must happen between January 8 and April 2, 2019. Third, depending on where you are going there might be a stop involved. But if you've been keen to go to Scandinavia, this deal could work! If not, just watch this adorable video SAS put together about what kids think airplane tickets cost and then feel all the feels.
