An Update on That Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at Disneyland with a Waterpark

Estimated read time 2 min read

The other month, we freaked out when we heard a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel & Waterpark was opening in Anaheim across from Disneyland on Harbor Boulevard. Not only will the hotel have guestrooms with twin bunk beds, two sinks, streaming Pandora + Netflix on the TVs, and separate walk-in showers, but it will also have the Surfside Water Parka 20,000-sq.ft. water wonderland filled with slides, pools, fountains and a 400-gallon “Drench Bucket.”

Alas, last week when we were at Disneyland we were able to get a glimpse of the hotel and it was still very much under construction. Most of the hotel building looked finished but the waterpark section was still just a bunch of cement. A July opening date looked very unlikely. Indeed, a visit to the hotel's website today now shows an “August” opening date. But when we tried to make a reservation for several dates in August, nothing was available. Saddies.

Hopefully, the hotel will open before school's back in session. Then again, the weather is blazing hot in Southern California through October so anytime before then will be a welcome way to cool off.
