Why We Love It: Carousels are always a tot-pleaser but this modern carousel at the very bottom tip of Manhattan doesn't feature the usual horsie suspects. Instead, kids and adults can ride in one of 30 giant luminescent fish shapes. The fish gently glide around and through the carousel, giving the ride an unusual twist. Beautiful music also rings thorughout the carousel, featuring original compositions and melodies as well as some EDM arrangements programmed by SiriusXM's in-house composer. Another fun fact: the fish were designed by the George Tsypin Opera Factory, the same company who did the designs for the Broadway production of The Little Mermaid.

What Ages: All ages, although children under 42-inches need to ride with an adult.

What to See: While you're down in Battery Park, you can walk along the watefront or hop on a ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

When to Go: Anytime, although try to go in nicer weather so you can enjoy the rest of Battery Park. The carousel is open from 7 days a week from 10am to 8pm but will occasionally close in times of bad weather.

How Much Does it Cost?: The ride is $5 per person. Children under 1 ride free. However, if you're child is under 42-inches, you must ride in a fish with your child so you'll need to buy a ticket for the both of you.
