Taking Off from MIA is ‘Plane Fun’ for Kids

Estimated read time 2 min read

If you're flying American Airlines out of Miami International Airport, then you're going to love the awesome airport playground in Concourse E near Gate E5. (It's also accessible from Concourse D, after security.)

The playground, which goes by the name “Plane Fun” has six different areas for kids to play around in, including a spot where they can listen to real conversations betweeen the control tower and airplane pilots, as well as sit in a model cockpit and practice takeoff and landing. Big kids will also love climbing up the mini-control tower and hopping into a hot-air balloon.

For toddlers, there's a special “soft” play area with aviation-themed play mats. And everyone, parents included, can take a selfie of themselves thanks to a mini-photo booth at the front of the playground.

Plane Fun opened at MIA two years ago and it's one of the most interactive playgrounds we've seen yet. We hope this trend continues! Also worth notiing: MIA has a children's art gallery.  Perfect if you're making your way through town for Art Basel.
