Trips + Giggles Eats: Flora Farms in Cabo

Estimated read time 2 min read

WHAT: Flora Farms Kitchen.

WHERE: Part of the 10-acre, organic Flora Farms in the Sierra de Laguna mountains of San Jose del Cabo, Flora's Field Kitchen serves up brunch, lunch and dinner using only their seasonal farm products, their own pigs and chicken, and their homemade breads. Everything tastes delicious and fresh, and is, for the most part, rather healthy. It's also a welcome break from the over-prepared resort food you've been eating during your vacation. Even better, the kitchen has a produce stand where you can grab vegetables and fruit to take back to your hotel or vacation rental. And the carrot margarita served in a mason jar at the Farm Bar, along with other “good for you” cocktails, are not to be missed. You'll also marvel at the thoughtful, Pinterest-perfect decor that's scattered throughout.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY PERKS: Children are very happily welcome here, there's even a little swingset for them to play on, and plenty of room to wild out. There is no special kids menu but there is pizza! You may want to bring your own coloring books or little toys to keep the kids occupied too. Flora's Kitchen also has a few other shops attached to it, including a handmade soap shop, a local goods store, a jewelry shop, and even, a James Perse.

COST: Prices aren't roadside stand cheap but they are a bit less than whatever a resort charges you.

T+G TIP: For dinner, you'll need a reservation especially during peak times like December and popular holiday weeks like Spring Break. Unless you have rented a car, you'll need to get a cab there. However, Flora Farm doesn't let cabs drive in for pick-ups, so you'll need to request a cab through them when you're done. Be prepared for a bumpy ride up the mountains on an unmarked road too.
