There are just a few weekends left to take advantage of the East Coast summer before school starts up again and if you and your boo need a quick getaway idea, look no further than the just-opened Asbury Ocean Club in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
In case you haven't heard, Asbury Park has been undergoing a major renaissance of sorts in the past few years. Once a pleasant seaside getaway around the turn of the 20th century, the town spent a lot of decades in a down-and-out kind of existence where its single best output was probably Bruce Springsteen. But thanks to a big and well-thought out development push from iStar, a real estate developer, Asbury Park is rising from the ashes. Today, there are lots of great new places to eat, hang out, shop, and stay the night.

The Asbury Ocean Club is a gorgeous-looking luxury retreat right on the boardwalk. It's the grown-up, sophisticated, sister to the fun-loving Asbury Hotel which has lots of different rooms ranging from suites to bunk-beds, along with a pool, a rooftop bar, and a wide-open lawn for movie nights. That's where you should take the kids. But if you need a Parents Only night away, head to Asbury Ocean Club.

There are just 54 sleekly-designed rooms here and all of them are on one floor, the 4th floor. This means getting to the bar, the restaurant, and the pool and outdoor lounge is incredibly easy. Each room also has soaring high loft ceilings, sexy peek-a-boo showers, sitting nooks, and views of either the ocean or the dune garden where your patio literally looks out over dunes. Additionally, the minibar has many fun goodies, including sheet masks!

At night, you can wind down on the pool deck with a clever cocktail or two (try The Jersey Devil, made with tequila) and when it gets chilly, head to the drawing room for a cozier way to wind down the night. A full restaurant and spa are in the works but in the meantime, you can have massages in your room, while the just-opened spinning studio, Tandem Cycle, is just a few blocks away.
Best of all, the Asbury Ocean Club is open year-round. So if you want an quick escape for the weekend after school starts, it will be there.
Rates at Asbury Ocean Club start around $425 a night. The remaining weekends in August are booked but weekdays are open as are weekends in September. More photos of the property are below!
