Black Friday Hotel Deal: Universal Orlando’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Estimated read time 3 min read

Everyone already knows this but it's worth repeating–planning a family trip to Orlando can get really expensive. Just the theme park tickets alone will set you back several hundred dollars. Which is why we're stoked about this $99 room rate weeknight rate from Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Orlando

The deal is available to book from now through Monday and it includes a $50 food & beverage credit and a free Family Suite upgrade. There is a minimum 3-night stay and the deal is only good for weeknight stays, so Sunday-Thursday. Travel dates are from November 30, 2014 to June 4, 2015. Black-out dates do apply.

Big Catch #1: The $99 rate is only available through February 2, 2015. So if you are planning a trip in January, you may be able to snag this rate. We found room rates for $179 a night in March. That is the rack rate as well but remember, this deal gets you the upgrade and the $50 resort credit.

Big Catch #2: Your reservation is non-cancellable and 100% prepaid at time of booking. So be sure you are really going to go.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a throwback to the 1950s/60s era of travel. It's not located anywhere near a beach but rather, its a part of the Universal resorts in Orlando (which also include The Hard Rock Orlando, Loews Portofino Bay and The Loews Royal Pacific Hotels.) However, this resort was built specifically with families in mind.

Family suites here can sleep up to six people with two queen beds and two queen pull-out sofa beds. There are also small kitchenettes in these rooms along with bathrooms that keep the toilet, sink and shower separate from one another so you don't have to go to the bathroom while someone else is showering. Standard rooms here come with two queen-sized beds and mini-fridges.

Elsewhere on property is a 10,000-square-foot, zero-entry pool with a 100-foot water slide, a 4,000-square-foot interactive play area, a lazy river experience, a bowling alley, the Bayliner Diner, a Starbucks, early theme park admission to Wizarding World of Harry Potter and a complimentary shuttle bus to the park.

Alas, the deal doesn't include theme park tickets. Sad trombone.
