Little by Little, Piece by Piece, Disneyland is Working on Reopening Plans

UPDATE: Unfortunately, with a surge of coronaviruses happening in California, the re-opening of Disneyland has been pushed back indefinitely. We'll keep you posted when we hear the newest reopening date.

With Walt Disney World set to reopen its parks on July 11, West Coast Disney fans are relieved to hear that their beloved Disneyland Resort will open around the same time, beginning on July 9.

But it won't be a race for Galaxy's Edge or Space Mountain as usual. Instead, the first to open will actually be the Downtown Disney District, a shopping and dining plaza just outside the park. Then on July 23 Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will cautiously open their gates.

Much like what's to be in place at Walt Disney World and what's already happened at Disneyland in Shanghai, the original Disneyland and DCA will require advance reservations to enter the park, even for Annual Passholders. These will be subject to availability in the hopes of limiting capacity. All new ticket sales are still on hold.

Any experience that usually draws large groups like parade and nighttime spectaculars will return at a later date. Character meet and greets will also be unavailable.

Regarding the hotels at Disneyland, these are still awaiting final state and local government approvals to reopen. However, if all goes well, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will plan to reopen on July 23. The Disneyland Hotel will open at a later date.

We'll continue to keep you updated on what the park has planned as reopening draws near!

Would you visit Disneyland on opening day? We kinda think we will! Let us know what you think!
