Good news is here! United Airlines new in-flight activity kit for kids. Yup, that's right.
On select flights United will be offering a kids’ all-in-one-activity kit which will have the following inside:
- Mask with mask sizer to adjust the fit to the child’s head
- Visual instructions on how to wear mask and sizer with a friendly message to parents/guardians
- Travel journal activity book with crayons
- Sanitizing wipe
- Eco-friendly, recyclable paper bag
The kit is designed for travelers ages 2-10 and in no way should this replace the tablet you will most likely be bringing along, but we are overjoyed to see airlines going out of their way to help kids.
The kits are still in a trial rollout, being offered to unaccompanied minors in the lobbies at DEN, IAD, and LAX, and to kids flying with parents on flights from Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, where United has hubs.
Other U.S. airlines offer smaller type of goodies to kids—like JetBlue's airplane wings—but most usually only offer kids' activities when you purchase one of their boxed kids' meals. So this is a big step and we're eager to see how it rolls out.
