SOUTH FLORIDA SCIENCE CENTER AND AQUARIUM

Why We Love It: Located about 10 minutes from Palm Beach proper, the science center is a very manageable musuem to explore. Yet just because it's small doesn't mean it's not interesting! The center boasts a mini-aquarium, a discovery center where kids can do their own tinkering, a huge outdoor play space, a planetarium, and even an 18-hole mini-golf course that teaches kid about certain animals and conservations practices at each hole.

What Ages: This is great for all ages, especially since the discovery center has a special area for toddlers. During our visit, the main exhibition was Bodies, which was a little too much for our 3, 8, and 10-year-old. But luckily, there was so much else to do.

When to Go: The museum is open from 9am to 5pm during the week and from 10 to 6pm on the weekends. What's great is that it's also located near the zoo, so it's possible to do both in one day. If you want to do that, I would recommend starting at the Science Center and then moving onto the Zoo. (More on that place shortly.) There are Covid-19 protocols in place, thankfully, and even the giant dinosaur in front of the museum wears a mask.

How Much Does it Cost?:  General admission for adults is $17.95 while children are $13.95 and seniors are $15.95. Plantearium shows are an extra $5 and the golf course is an extra $6.
