What’s in the Lion Knapsack at The Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Rey in Los Angeles?

Estimated read time 2 min read

The Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey is one of the most family-friendly hotels in Los Angeles that not many folks know about.

Aside from its location on an actual marina, where kids can watch the ships (ok, small boats) come in and you as a family can take off for a variety of water adventures, the resort boasts LA's only waterfront pool along with two tennis courts.

The spacious rooms are more of an older Ritz-Carlton style, heavy on the navy blue and gold, but the hotel recently renovated its lobby scene to appeal to today's travelers, young and old. They've also introduced a new community-made restaurant concept called Cast & Plow, which features classic American cuisine but made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients–most of them from the Marina del Rey farmer's market.

We especially like it's close proximity to Los Angeles International Airport, which means your ride from the baggage claim to the hotel will be, at the most, 20 minutes. And in traffic-jammed LA, that's a reason enough alone to book.

Now, let's take a look inside the kids knapsack that's given to little guests as part of the Ritz Kids program:

Parents can opt to watch from the “adult viewing area” above the Rose Garden where they can also sip on some hand-crafted cocktails and dishes from the Wave Poolside Bar + Grill.
