About 20 minutes outside of Zion National Park in Utah is a town called Virgin. Yup, Virgin. (There's also a Virgin River nearby too.) But this isn't a zany marketing stunt from Sir Richard Branson. This is an actual town first settled in 1858. There's not many people who live here, only about 600, and its main attraction is the unusual Fort Zion store.
Since the store is located on Route 9 leading up into the Zion area, Fort Zion is the place you want to stop to get some souvenirs. Some of them are sweet and some of them are well, unusual.
Not into buying anything? The kids can run around in the mini Wild West town that's out front and which also has a small petting zoo (for a fee.) Or if you're hungry, you can stay for lunch or dinner and ice cream. All in all, it's a fun little stop and a nice way to break up your drive to and from Zion National Park.
