Hyatt Has Put Together Some Family-Friendly Explor-Cations to Consider

Here's a common problem when pulling together your vacation plan—You know you want to get away and you might have an idea of where you want to go, but you can't seem to figure out what you want to do when you get there. And after a year like this where we've all had to deal with so. much. hard. stuff, it makes sense that you'd like to make the activities part of the planning process much more simpler.

Enter Hyatt Hotels.

The hotel company has put together 40 or so “Explor-cations” tailored just families. These range from outdoor excursions such as fly-fishing (Grand Hyatt Vail in Colorado) and surfing (Alia Marea Beach Resort near San Diego) to more educational ones like cultural immersions (Alila Hinu Bay in Oman) and sewing classes (Wild Dunes Resort, a Destination Hotel by Hyatt in South Carolina) and then there's just really cool ones like tomahawk and archery classes (Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa in Texas.)

What's great about these is that you can arrange them through the hotel (often on their website) and in many cases, the activities are available on-property or close-by. So there's no need to involve an outside tour company.

Some of them are a little basic, like the yoga class offered at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar which is part of the wellbeing explor-cations (supposedly flamingos will join you!) but all in all, many of the explor-cations are great options for filling a day.

To book the activity, just call the hotel and tell them the dates of your stay.

GOOD TO KNOW: many Hyatt Hotels are part of the Hyatt Privé program which will gives Privé guests $100 property credit, a room upgrade if available, breakfast for two and a welcome amenity. And beyond that if you book three nights or more, your 3rd night is free. But you can only access these perks if you book through a Hyatt Privé travel advisor like me!
