Summer is winding down–indeed, some poor kids are already back at school (lucky parents!)–but we say summer ain't over until Labor Day has come and gone. (Actually summer isn't over until September 22, if you want to get technical.) With the holiday weekend coming up, that means there's still time to make one last trip before we all hunker down for the fall.

While the jury's still out on this crazy airplane seat for infants, here are 5 Genius Travel Gear Items to bring on your last, final, trip this summer. Not traveling anytime soon? Then, keep these in mind for your next big trip!

1. giggle Better Basics Grab-and-Go Wet/Dry bag ($18): The waterproof bag makes it ideal for storing and stashing bottles and diapers (although, not together.) There's an outside mesh pocket to keep pertinent items handy and a strap can hook the bag to a stroller. For those with older kids, you can use the bag to stash wet bathing suits.

2. Stokke Flexibath ($40): Not all hotels have bathtubs and the ones that do, can be unsafe for wee ones. Having recently stayed at a hotel with a four-foot-deep soaking tub, we wish we had this item with us. You can pack it into a large suitcase which might not be ideal but it will slide right into your trunk for road trips. Can be used for kids up to age 4.

3. Ergobaby 360 Carrier ($160): We've always loved comfy and stylish baby carriers from Ergo but our children always wanted to face out and see the world (Go figure.) And now they can with the brand's new 360 carrier. Baby can also be worn on your hip or your back or the old-school way of facing inward. The Ergo site is currently replenishing their stock so hit up your fave baby store or big brand retailer to get yours.

4. Safety Tats ($20.99): Whether you're at the beach or the amusement park or even just a crowded playground, slap a Safety Tat on your adventurous kids in case, GOD FORBID, anything should happen. You can also opt for tats that address a child's medical issues like dangerous allergies or diabetes.

5. Sea Squirts Swim Water Vests ($29.99): Shark Week is over but not for your cool kid, thanks to these swim vests. Aside from having a flexible fin, the vest has three flotation devices within, which can be removed as the child gets better at swimming. As always, keep a close watch on your child, even when the vest is on. Here are some water safety tips to read over again.
